Position: ICT/Database Officer
Samuel Bonnie is a detail-oriented and results-driven Data Management and ICT professional with over three years of experience in data analysis, survey design, and information systems management. As an ICT/Database Officer and Head of the Programmes Department at CMDA-SL, he oversees research and program implementation, managing a multidisciplinary team to ensure the successful execution of projects and also leads the development and implementation of data management systems, ensuring efficiency, security, and compliance with data protection policies. He has extensive experience in designing and encoding complex quantitative questionnaires using KoBoToolbox, SurveyCTO, and ODK, managing high-quality data collection processes, and overseeing data servers to ensure timely, accurate, and complete data transmission.
Samuel specialises in database management, statistical analysis, and data visualisation using SPSS, R, SQL, Excel, Power BI, and Tableau, enabling data-driven decision-making. He plays a key role in training field data collectors on mobile data collection tools, quality control measures, and best practices in research methodology.
In his leadership role, he mentors and trains field data collectors, research staff, and project teams on mobile data collection tools, quality control measures, and best practices in research methodology. He develops secure data-sharing protocols, optimises digital infrastructure, and ensures routine data cleaning and validation to maintain high data integrity.
With a strong background in IT, server monitoring, and data security, Samuel provides technical support, troubleshoots system issues, and ensures the smooth operation of CMDA-SL’s data management platforms. He is an excellent communicator, capable of simplifying complex data concepts for diverse stakeholders, and is passionate about using technology to enhance research outcomes, policy development, and program impact.
